Need to make an editable website

Hello

Let me say it first - I am not a Drupal user. I just know it is the best CMS for developers.

I am a web developer for a website. The website was made back in the 90's, and thus has very few usage of php/mysql. I currently know HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL and how to use these together to make dynamic websites. Now, I need to make this website into an editable website, ie, someone with admin status should be able to edit it through a web browser WITHOUT HAVING TO MEDDLE WITH SOURCE FILES. Will learning Drupal help me achieve this? My timeframe is:

Module for image description?

Hello there,

I recently started using Drupal, and it's been absolutely great! I love it, but I'm looking for a module that I just can't find.

I'm making a content for uploading images with description, and with that I mean for every image you choose and upload, there will be a box below it where you're able to write a description.

I know that you can make like say... 5 images, and then 5 text fields below the images for the descriptions, but then all the images will be in one place, and the descriptions in another.

The Forgotten User

Hi all,

I've spent the last six months trying to get Drupal 6 to deliver a site to my specifications with no success I'm afraid.

Getting used of addressing content in terms of nodes is a nonsense to the average user and the user interface is bloody horrendous!!!

I'm a competent Java programmer and after the six months of stubbornly trying to get Drupal to deliver the functionality I require I figure I would probably have completed the site using JSP in the same time frame. Fortunately the site is not for a customer and is more of an academic endeavor to learn Drupal on my part but that does not mean I will compromise on the functionality I'm seeking :)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not belittling the work put into Drupal or it's modules at all, nor am I saying that a CMS built using Java would be better. Drupal is an exceptional piece of coding and importantly it's standards compliant which is a major point for me as it leads to consistency.
What I am trying to say it that Drupal 6 suffered from the same fundamental flaw as Linux has suffered from over the years, A developers mind set.

Over the years the Linux fraternity has ranted on about how Linux is better that Windows and will eventually become the Desktop operating system of choice because it's free and more stable.

How to start quckly with Drupal to contribute to open source?

I want start my website in a way like http://addons.oscommerce.com/ -> where everyone can "upload a new package", "make description to a package" and "add file to a package" quckly and easy make contributions. question about how support works

Hi all.
I'm interested in understanding more about how drupal support ( module ) works. first let me say I know its all voluntary and I really do appreciate how much work it is. I opened

http://drupal.org/node/1344702

back in November and have received one response which I do not understand. So my question is have I done something wrong? Did I not follow the correct process? I'm just trying to understand if there is something I could do better that would help facilitate a response to my questions.
