Drupal 7 or 8

I know. I know. How many times have we heard this? Well I just commented on another post similar to my situation. First and foremost Drupal has always been this monumental CMS that I loved and hated. i have built a few sites with 6 and 7. I moved away to WP for a few years, mainly because the work i had didn't warrant a beast of CMS like Drupal. Now I am back because, well, I need something that will cater content to users who are logged in. i know Drup Drup can do that ;).

lack of drupal 8 premium themes

Hi,

I am new to Drupal and if I will begin to know a little more want to start with the new dropal 8.
I have started watch the drupal 8 before the release and as many people I am very excited.
One of the things I have noticed is the lack of drupal 8 premium themes. I have always looked and few have found. However noticed that the drupal theme authors continue to launch premium drupal themes from the previous version today.

Drupal Vs Wordpress

Drupal VS Wordpress

So its an argument I have been having with some developers for some time. Which is better Wordpress or Drupal.

I lean towards Wordpress as I can have a single page interactive site up in a few hours after proofs.

I am just wondering if I am missing a trick with Drupal?

Your favorite tools?

I'm a little curious about your tools. Can you elect you favorite tools while you develop your website?

1) What's your favorite local environment (MAMP, XAMPP, VAMP, WAMP, AMPPS, other)?
2) What's your favorite code editor? And why?
3) What's your favorite database frontend (phpMyAdmin, Sequel Pro, etc)?
4) Other stuff you consider relative?

Thank you.
