Drupal 7.x

Can someone tell me what are the best implementation enviroments for a local/test Drupal 7 development installation?

1. MySql version?
2. PHP 5 - minimum memory limit?
3. additional developmet tools/modules?

Suggestion and informative/documentation nodes, very much appreciate!

Is there a way to get comments to nest inside one another, instead of just being indented? This (non-Drupal) blog has this affect and I am curious as to whether this can be done with Drupal.

Is this affect done with CSS or would changes need to be made to the tpl files or the core comment module?

My fckeditor profiles are set up to turn enter into <p>, and when I click to switch to plain text editor I can see these tags around paragraphs.

However, when I click to save and look at the result, all occurrences of <p> have become <br&gt, which is not what I want.

Is there a setting somewhere I can use to stop <p> becoming <br>?

I was looking through the modules for a specific form that will send to multiple emails based off of the selected checkboxes and provide a confirmation to the person entering a form. Since the search is a little bit cumbersome, would anyone have any ideas to which form would be beneficial for this request? Thanks in advance.

Hi...I'm in the process of looking for a solution for my project. I need something that will allow users to create an account where they will have their own login and page that will consist of a number of fields that they can update via logging into their profile. The site will have categories that will organize the user profiles based on certain criteria from the fields. Will Drupal work for this?
