I was wondering if it was possible to select who you want to follow instead of relying on search or tags?

is there a way to follow people, i suppose in the same way that people follow certain people on twitter? The web link / weblink module would be the most relevant

IIS7 when Drupal is in offline-mode I get the following error "The service is unavailable."

This issue seems to happen only when the site is in offline-mode, when in offline-mode I get the following error "The service is unavailable.".

Then I'm in regular mode I can log in and work with the system fine has anyone seen or had this problem before?

does anyone have a solution for this?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Fastest CMS Theme ever fantastic work

Hi guys
although I decided to completely switch to drupal from Joomla, there is something that always make me go look what's going on in Joomla and that the Team from Rockettheme.com . and they new free template Afterburner (you know like jet fast, and even faster!!!)
boy that theme is fast. Just look at the details : demo.rockettheme.com/free/afterburner/features/fast-loading

I installed in my joomla 1.5 with about 8 different block and content, frontpage etc... Total number of request: 7 yup you see right 7
and that's without doing caching etc... when I removed the footer it went to 5 request.
for the first time a team as successfully used performance techniques in a theme like css sprite.

I only which a team will do the same or better under drupal.

Drupal is such an amazing piece of wonders, but in my opinion the drupal ways lack understanding of common users. example I saw a drupal theme for sale price: $3450, yes that much Common!!!!! let's be real, to all the drupal themers THERE IS A RECESSION !!!!
while Rockettheme is $60 for a yearly subscription and you get access to they wonder themes!!!

I always have that feeling that Joomla really strive to focus on the end user, that they listen more
while drupal is too Geek and quite frankly to cocky

Multiple logins (Like myspace! Member & group login)

Sorry if this is not the right place to post in, feel free to move it if so!

Hello all,

My company is starting a website that is gonna function "a bit" like myspace.. Our big problem is finding a CMS that will support 2 kinds of logins - I.E. one for "normal persons" (This would include normal members, staff, administrators and in general all "single" people) and a login for a group (This would include bands, musical groups and fan-groups)..
Can drupal support this? Does it allready exist in some sort of extensions or should it all be coded??

Drupal 7.x installation and PDO

If I have a PDO driver enabled on my webserver, should I see that driver appear as a database type option on the 'Database configuration' page for a Drupal 7 installation?

Phpinfo.php tells me my driver exists and is enabled, and I have another php file that runs the following code:

foreach(PDO::getAvailableDrivers() as $driver)
    {
    echo $driver.'<br />';
    }

It also tells me the PDO driver exists as well.

Error while installing.

I am using mysql and i am not able to install drupal.

At the page top:
Warning: PDO::__construct(): [2002] Invalid argument (trying to connect via unix://) in /opt/lampp/htdocs/drupal7dev/includes/database/database.inc on line 324

In the red box:
In order for Drupal to work, and to continue with the installation process, you must resolve all issues reported below. For more help with configuring your database server, see the Installation and upgrading handbook. If you are unsure what any of this means you should probably contact your hosting provider.
