Member management - need sugestions and code help

Hi all,

I am new to Drupal but do have a limited understanding of how it works...

I have a site that I would like to migrate from PostNuke to D7 but have one big item stopping me. The site is a club site that charges for memberships, a custom PHP management system was written for them to integrate with the PostNuke user tables and handles new user registration, renewals and maintains the membership roster. It uses PayPal's IPN to integrate payment information.

Drupal 7 - subtheme install no go...

Installing Zen theme for the first time and opting for development release in order to work with Drupal 7. The sub theme development process was successful but once I hit refresh/Appearance in my admin ...no zen sub theme.

Would I be making a major mistake/breaking any laws if I just develop using the Zen theme as is?

I appreciate your time & attention!

Drupal 7 quite slow - Overlay, Toolbar?

Hi Folks,

I just installed D7 and even if it looks quite nice, unfortunately it is very very slow. I installed it on the same server, running from the same DB, where I have a D6 test-system running (only D7 having 'drupal7_' as table-prefix), and the "respondiness" of D7 while travelling through the new administration-structures is really annoyingly slow.

On the D6 system, activating modules, adding translations etc. is clicking on "Save" and after at most a few eyeblinks, the system is ready.

On D7 it sometimes runs into Server-Timeouts (browser not loading anything anymore, overlay-content not progressing anymore) but at least every click to a different administrative link takes several seconds (in double-figures). After disabling the "Overlay" module it got a little better, but still is quite too slow to be appropriate for endusers (customers).

Just as an example: just clicking on "configuration" takes 11 seconds to show the configuration page in D7. In the D6 system (same server, same db) I didn't even reach the "two" while counting the seconds.

Server is Apache, MySQL is 5.0.91, PHP is 5.2.14. My System is a Dualcore with 3,2 GHz, running WinXP and D7 is slow in every Browser (Opera, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE), so the problem seems not to be related to slow JS on my System/Browsers.

Drupal 7 / Ubuntu 10.04 / Virtualmin Pro / Install Problems

Virtualmin 3.82 PRO
PHP 5.3.2
Apache 2.2.1.4
MySQL 5.1.41

I can't wait for Virtualmin PRO to get there install script up for Drupal 7 so tried to install the first time manually. I was getting a blank page after entering database info during the install process. I then edited the settings.php file and input the database data manually. I changed permissions to that file and the default directory to make them writable by www-data

When I run the installer now I get this error:

Removing authoring information from front page?

I have been looking everywhere for the answer, and have been looking all over D7. I cannot remove the authoring information on my front page of the website. I created my own content type where authoring info is not displayed, and it works on every page but the front page. Am I missing something? If it matters I am using the Marinelli theme.

Thanks in advanced.

Tabbed menu that is just the right size for the menu text?

Hey all,

I'm so excited Drupal 7 is out. I have made websites with Joomla, but I waited for Drupal 7 to come out before I would attempt a project. It ended up being a year long wait, as I started looking a Drupal a year ago.
