Promote post to page other than front page?

Is this possible?

I would like to have a homepage with a link to a "whats new" page with the list of stories, pages, ect on it...

plus... I need it to be in 2 languages, so one page picks up english and the other picks up dutch... can it be done?

Stock Summary Ticker in Header

Trying to add a stock ticker which shows the 4 main stock segments (ie. Nasdaq, S&P500 etc.) into the header area of the affaires theme but seem unable to add anything to the header section. Any advice is much appreciated!

Thank you!
Kim

Allow only admins to post to a particular forum

Hey everyone. I'm new to drupal and have a quick question about the forums. I have several forums listed, but I want to lock one forum so only admins can post to it. This will be used for posting site news. I have created an admin group, but I don't see a way to tell it to only allow admins to post. I want to leave all of the other forums open for registered users to post.

Any thoughts?

Mark

More problems, this time with user roles and logged in/out status

I got my multilingual menu working (cue applausse) and need more help, the "log out" and "administer" buttons appear wheather a user is an administrator or not, or even if someone is not logged on.
Now I know I could just remove them and make an array with user ids that are administrators, but that is difficult to maintain...

could someone please help me find (or make) some functions that would return true or false to role status and/or logged in status?
