Installing Drupal

Hi! I'm a newbie and I'd like to know whether the correct thing to do is to unzip then upload the contents of Drupal7 into a folder in the site file (or is it FTP?). Or do I simply upload the zipped file? Please help!

I have downloaded a theme and a module to mey computer. I then uploaded them to my hosting account. But I cant see Them in Site Building/Theme or module. Please tell me what is wrong. Thanks much

My current Drupal website developed by dr5 and i want to move all contents from drupal 5 to drupal 6 without upgrading DR5 to DR6.
i tried some ways, but they didn't work properly.
what's the best solution for doing this ?
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How do I make it where users can see all their past post on forums like the one they have here (Your Post). I am running Drupal 7, would a module that says 6.x whatever, work with Drupal 7? Or can you create a shortcut for the users? If so, what would be the path? Like /node/track?

I am having a problem at the Database Configuration page, where it is only giving me the option to install on a SQLite Database server, but it is a SQL server (Server version: 5.0.45-community-nt), when saving and continuing I receive the following error message - Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[HY000] [14] unable to open database file. I have been working with the hosting company and they dont know, so I am hoping someone else has come across the same problem.

Please let me know.
