Installing Drupal

Drupal 7.0 Install fails after hitting "Save and Continue" on "Set up database" screen with MySQL selected. Note that "Verify requirements" susceeded. If I look at the database the "variable" table does exist and has 6 rows of data.

Platform:
Apache/2.2.3
PHP Version 5.3.6
MySQL 5.0.77
on RedHat Linux

Error displayed in browser:

is that possible to install drupal 6 in a folder named with a specified folder name?
Such as, after the installation, its folder is in www.domain.com/abcde instead of www.domain.com/drupal6

I get the following error after doing a fresh install of Drupal 7.0 from the Fantastico Cpanel installer:

PDOException: SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'aethelre_drpl1.variable' doesn't exist: SELECT name, value FROM {variable}; Array ( ) in variable_initialize() (line 749 of /home/aethelre/public_html/community/includes/bootstrap.inc).

This is a fresh installation of Drupal 7 on a subdomain.
It is as downloaded from Drupal.org.

Can you please share your thought?

drush 4.4 on Mac OS 10.6

I have an install profile which includes a stub make file and a primary make file. If I run the stub make file locally (on my machine) it runs perfectly. If I run the exact same make file via GitHub, it consistently fails reporting the following two errors:

I have now installed Drupal 7. I have tried several time to install Acquia_Prosper-6.x-1.1, unsuccessfully. Are they compatible? What exactly must I do? I would appreciate a step-by-step run down. Plus any other tips.

And to all users of Acquia_Prosper,:::::::::: I would like to know what you think of it. Any advantages or disadvantages?
