Doing a manual installation with the following configuration:
Drupal 7.4 on Server 2008 R2
PHP 5.3.5
SQL 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2 (separate machine)
All the pre-requisites for IIS and installed as indicated in the documentation. Everything goes good until it gets to the portion where I define the database and it starts to create tables. It creates tables, and somewhere in the proecss it throws the following error:
"File system
The directory sites/default/files does not exist. An automated attempt to create this directory failed, possibly due to a permissions problem. To proceed with the installation, either create the directory and modify its permissions manually or ......."
I have set up a new VPS server, running Ubuntu Mandrake. I have then moved my Drupal 7 site from Dreamhost to this VPS. Now that I've done this, however, the login form at http://nik.me/user doesn't work. I enter a login, and it just stays where it is... nothing happens. Stranger still, the search box in the sidebar works fine on the front page, but doesn't work at all when you click through to an interior page.
I have a site under the domain pair www.misitio.cl / siertos pair which I have problems like when I want to modify, create or delete a note, configuration, content, etc by pressing the save button I get error 404 / node / 4 / WAS edit not found on this server.
I'm newbie and I'm using Acquia DAMP installer 7.x to install the latest version of the Drupal i.e. 7.4 but i'm unable to do so. When I import the Drupal core to it it gives me error "Hosts file doesn't exist or is not writable. C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc". The hosts file exist in the folder and I have made that host file writable as well yet i'm not able to import drupal core.
