Installing Drupal

I've installed drupal 7 in linux in a virtualbox environment and it works fine. I installed it in a subdomain. Inside linux I can browse and administer the site fine in Firefox. But when I access it from the host (windows), I get the top and left parts of the theme fine but the content says:

Page not found
The requested page "/http://dev.MyDomain.com/" could not be found.

So it looks like a leading slash is messing something up somewhere...any ideas where I should look?

I have successfully uploaded my database. While installing (Choose language: Install Drupal in English) the testing site on local host I am getting this fatel error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in C:\xampp\htdocs\sitename\includes\file.inc on line 958.

But I am not getting any maximum execution time in file.inc. Can someone help me to short this problem. Please answer as it is urgent.

Using WordPress, You'll NEVER receive this kind of error. I also have another Error message in my Dashboard and NO ONE can figure it out.

Drupal is the worse CMS that has ever been created. Watch this posting as it will be deleted or redirected to another thread that has no solution for the past 3-4 years or more.

Watch out folks, Drupal will have you screaming and pulling your hair completely out w/ petty crap.
