Installing Drupal

hi, i've got a prob:
i've uploded the files and the database and then i connected them.
then i went to settings.php in the site/namesite, edit it and then copy the same file in site/default
i still have problems...what can i do?

I've installed drupal locally on my computer and was amazed by this poweful tool.
However, when I tried to install it on an Amazon Elastic cloud machine (Ubuntu 12.04) I came accross some problems.

I've repeated the process quite a few times, just using the ubuntu repository to install drupal7:
apt-get install drupal7

I have Drupal installed in my root and now I want to install drupal in sub folder also. But, when I type the URL of the sub-folder it is re-directed to the root site.

After I installed the drupal distribution TB Sirate, on a Xamp (win 7) machine I got the next error when logging in as a user with admin rights:
Notice: Undefined index: drupal in update_requirements() (line 35 of F:\xampp\htdocs\TRCDR\modules\update\update.install).

This is my first drupal installation, I am a experienced web developer (occupation Java Developer).
And I'm working on a site completley written with php (for hobby), my goal is to change this site to a CMS, I've choosen drupal after I tried Wordpress and I am not satisfied with wordpress.

Recently I purchased a beagle bone black board with Angstrom OS default. I am trying to install drupal on the board. But didn't find any suitable tutorials or any forum to do the trick. It better to post the steps here if any one have experienced with this.
