Installing Drupal

I get an error in the installation of drupal
"PHP 'register globals' On ('1')
Register_globals is enabled. Drupal requires this directive to be disabled. Your site may indeed be at risk if register_globals is enabled. You will find instructions on how to change the configuration settings in the PHP manual. "
please what should i do ?

I downloaded the theme to my local pc from there I uploaded the theme to the shared server.
Some how i can choose the theme but it is not working on the server.
Does somebody how I can download it directely to my shared server.

Hi,

I am looking for a module who can work as a mail client for my Drupal users in Drupal. Users can send private messages to each other after they logged in and Headquarters can send to everyone. Messages from HQ are always on screen and users can comment on the messages.
Suggestions?

I need help in troubleshooting this issue with my newly installed Drupal 7.23 on my web host server. The default themes are not showing up.

Using Firebug on Firefox, the its states "fail to load the given url"

My steps on installing the Drupal as follows:
1. Create subdirectory /cms
2. Uploaded Drupal 7.23
3. Installed Drupal
4. Visited my site at mysite.com/cms
5. Go to Administration, Appearance

Am I not installing Drupal correctly?

Please assist...

I have an advanced forum module and a gallery modeul installed and has run for 1 years,many threads and replies in it.

Now I 'd like to convert the Drupal into a social network system.

Each users will be able to 'follow' other users' activity such as post new thread at forum or post new photo at gallery etc.

What should I do to achieve this?

Dear all,
I am running into the problems while migrating a Drupal-website to on a new domain. Drupal installation went flawlessly, then restored with backup and migrate the Database. I also copied via ftp the folders sites (excluding the already configured settings-file) and modules. Then rund update.php.
The result is void-no website shows up. What am I doing wrong? I read about ten tutorials, but I cant find any hint on what might be the problem.
