Installing Drupal

I'm not sure if this is the right place. If not pleaase point me in the right direction.

I've got as far as item 17 in the Julio installation notes and the installation got right to the end of the progress bar and then failed with following error:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 25690112) (tried to allocate 36 bytes) in /homepages/11/databasename/htdocs/subdomainfoldername/modules/system/system.install on line 1560

Any suggestions?

SUMMARY
I am using a shared hosting plan at Hostgator.
I am trying to setup a drupal installation that is installed in a subdirectory at hostgator to function as a multi site.

PDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2005] Unknown MySQL server host 'localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock' (1) in lock_may_be_available()

PDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user: 'xxxx@localhost' (Using password: YES) in lock_may_be_available()

Problem with Installation failed with localhost:/tmp/mysql5.sock on 1and1 server

Solution :
use unix_socket in settings.php

I've used this drush make file successfully on several occasions over the last couple months and now suddenly it's not working and full of these errors.

I came here through Google code in . but since im a mac user i Bad some problems installing Version 8 of drupal . Version 7 works great with XAMPP but for the
coding stuff i will probably need Version 8 . so please could someone help me ?
