Installing Drupal

hi

could anybody try to help me out on this one?

i have my blog online in a dir on my document root (/myblog/), good thing.
i make on a dayly basis baclkups of the database, good thing
i copy them off-site automatically, good thing
i even test the integrity of the database dump file every now and then, paranoid but good
i am using the polder theme

I'm trying to make the text box smaller because I am using a small width on my website. I can't find where to edit that at. Does anyone know where the form code is for the text boxes?

I recently installed the 4.1 RC update. Everything went smoothly, except the weblinks module no longer displays a block on the front page. It shows up in modules, shows up in blocks (and is set to active), but does not display. No error messages, etc.

Any ideas?

Help -- Drupal keeps stripping the JavaScript functions from my static site pages. How can I get around this?

Is it possible to run Drupal with allow_call_time_pass_reference = Off???

I have just downloaded drupal on recommendation of a friend.It looks nice but you might want to add somewhere in the module download page ( http://www.drupal.org/node.php?id=68 ) a description for each module because Im looking at the names and I really dont know which ones I want and having to download them all just to find out is not very useful.
Also a screenshot for each theme might be nice.
