Hi gang,
I'm the co-founder of Ourmedia.org. I think we're one of the largest Drupal sites now: 15 months old with over 105,000 members, and another 8,000 signing up each month. We have 80 moderators based in 15 countries. We're a nonprofit and our major partner is the nonprofit Internet Archive at archive.org.
We're looking for a tech lead/Chief Engineer.
Early on, my former partner discouraged Drupal developers from participating in the development of Ourmedia. But he has moved on, and our team is now fully committed to working with the Drupal community. Meaning: we need to upgrade to Drupal 4.7.2. We won't be forking off but will release ALL code back to the Drupal community. We want to make this a true open source project. (We're also working with the Apache Software Foundation and the good folks at the Open Source Lab at Oregon State, which is an important supporter of Drupal.)
We have some major changes afoot for Ourmedia 2.0. What you see today won't resemble our community 6 months from now, hopefully. For example, we are now planning phase 2 of the site to relaunch Ourmedia as a community site for artists and grassroots media creators, with social media tools and a deep Learning Center.

As part of this relaunch, we want to completely redesign the Ourmedia UI to make it simpler and cleaner; to turn the Ourmedia front page into a window into other grassroots media sites; to let our community members surface quality works to the front page a la Digg, etc.
