Summer Drupal training program in India

With 75,000+ Drupal power websites and an emerging industry supporting over 150 professionals, the open-source Drupal project and community is exploding. At the heart of this community is an incredibly active and productive group of contributors. Creating contributed modules, themes, bug fixes, and core enhancement, these individuals define the course of the Drupal project and the ecosystem of users, tinkerers, and professionals around it.

Through this internship program we will attempt to train students from India the ins and outs of Drupal and help them established themselves as long term contributors to the Drupal project. Over two months the selected students will work closely with project mentors on real world Drupal projects; contributed modules, and core patches. They will learn the Drupal development process and gain extremely valuable experience interacting with a live open-source project. Students will be paid a stipend of 4,600 INR to 8,000 INR a month depending on the level of their contributions to the Drupal project.

Ourmedia seeks a Drupal nerd :)

Hi gang,

I'm the co-founder of Ourmedia.org. I think we're one of the largest Drupal sites now: 15 months old with over 105,000 members, and another 8,000 signing up each month. We have 80 moderators based in 15 countries. We're a nonprofit and our major partner is the nonprofit Internet Archive at archive.org.

We're looking for a tech lead/Chief Engineer.

Early on, my former partner discouraged Drupal developers from participating in the development of Ourmedia. But he has moved on, and our team is now fully committed to working with the Drupal community. Meaning: we need to upgrade to Drupal 4.7.2. We won't be forking off but will release ALL code back to the Drupal community. We want to make this a true open source project. (We're also working with the Apache Software Foundation and the good folks at the Open Source Lab at Oregon State, which is an important supporter of Drupal.)

We have some major changes afoot for Ourmedia 2.0. What you see today won't resemble our community 6 months from now, hopefully. For example, we are now planning phase 2 of the site to relaunch Ourmedia as a community site for artists and grassroots media creators, with social media tools and a deep Learning Center.

http://www.ourmedia.org/learning-center

As part of this relaunch, we want to completely redesign the Ourmedia UI to make it simpler and cleaner; to turn the Ourmedia front page into a window into other grassroots media sites; to let our community members surface quality works to the front page a la Digg, etc.

Drupal Debian Packages

Hi,
I've made some experimental debian packages for drupal 4.7 and some modules. They are far from perfect but work for me somehow.
If you are interested, you can find them here:

Audio Playlist Module for 4.7

OK! I'm finally done integrating everything I was hoping to for this release of the playlist.module:

1) iTunes podcast/xspf/m3u/pls feeds generated on the fly, with full metadata support
2) album artwork can now be integrated (through URL)
3) xspf flash players for each feed, including popup players for each
4) audio browser, similar to iTunes, used to search audio tags and find the audio to add to playlists
5) upload new audio files to playlists on the fly with an inline uploader
6) listening station: an xspf flash player block that has a dropdown select to listen to different playlists on the site
7) Cut n' paste HTML and javascript includes for integrating the flash player on other sites
8) lots of customization options

Don't like the name audio playlist? Change it to audio album, podcast, or whatever. Don't want the block to have a title? There are lots of settings options (with more to come) so you can customize this module to work anyway you want.

This module is in beta. It needs lots of testing and grooming of the code. Unfortunately I can only afford to work on this in my spare time so I could really use a lot of help with beta testing!

Check out the Demo Site if you want a rough idea of functionality. You can upload audio files up to 1 meg in size and create playlists. Even better for testing purposes would be if you could download the package and try it out. I'm especially unsure about installation problems and with upgrading.
