New Contributed Module: Google PageRank

This module provides visitors to your web site a way to find the Google PageRank of sites choose by them.

Google PageRank is a general representation of an internet page's popularity; it is primarily based on link popularity. Commonly the websites with a high PageRank value tend to have more traffic and higher positions in search engines (although many other factors are also taken into consideration.).

New Contributed Module: nodeorder

The nodeorder module lets the user, or administrator, order nodes within their taxonomy terms. It's worth a look if only for the S/P Ajax-inspired drag and drop interface for moving nodes around.

Guaranteed to work in 4.7.x ... guaranteed not to work the same, or at all, yet, in 5.x...

Monthly archive module

I created a monthly archive module for Drupal 4.6 since, to my surprise, there was no such thing available yet.

Dries Buytaert receives Drupal.com domain from OpenDomain.org

We are happy to report that the domain Drupal.com has been generously donated by Cedric Johnson of the OpenDomain.org organization. The domain had been obtained by OpenDomain.org as part of their effort to become involved in open source projects by buying expensive domains and letting projects build websites with them. According to Cedric Johnson, “We don’t sell domains nor do we transfer them. Instead, we buy domains so organizations that share our view of responsible open sourcing can use them for free in promoting these open technologies. It’s a different way to contribute to open sourcing, and it’s the kind of collaborative spirit that made the Internet possible.” In the case of Drupal.com, the domain has been transferred directly to Dries, free of charge, as an outright donation to the Drupal project.
