template conversion from old site to drupal

Hi,

my site CameraPrices.com will be moved to drupal 4.7 soon. I am looking to either have the old design moved to the new drupal site or to have an overhaul done. If you are creative and want to do an overhual please keep this in mind - this site is a shopping comparison site and it will cater to those who know nothing about cameras / photography as well as professional photographers. The current site does not have much content on it but that will change soon, so the layout needs to be clean, organized and attractive to keep the people coming back.

Need developer to integrate an xml api (think amazon tools or ebay api)

Hi guys/gals,

I wanted to give others the opportunity to show off their drupal coding skills. I am in contact with one drupal developer but he may not be able to take the job. I anticipate this project to be done completely by the end of the month.

First, this drupal site will not sell anything but will have products on it...

I have a site using an xml api that provides categories, products, product reviews, store reviews, consumer reviews and product specs. I want to get this xml api to work in drupal. The basic idea is to call a HTTP GET request and turn that xml into pages and use certain parts of the xml to build terms. A additional part to the equation is to have certain data from queries to be stored into the database. It is important to have the xml data connected with other terms. For example, if there is a product that is linked to terms like, digital camera, canon, 8 megapixels, then if someone was to click on one of those tags, it would bring them to a new page will all related content to the term. So, if canon is clicked, then all products, news, articles linked to canon will be displayed.

Some other features I would like to see on this drupal site are ratings (for news/articles) and an option to give a review on product pages.

I have been given a quote by one programmer that the time needed would be 40 hours - just for the xml api part. I have a complete whitepaper on the entire xml api. I am pretty familiar with the api so most questions could be answered. I have a majority of the code written to generate the xml queries and to parse the xml. I think the majority of the work is to build a module and maybe a few other files to 'hook' into drupal. It seems the amazontools is very similar to what I am looking for, but for a different xml api.

Looking for short-term help as base for long term contractual relationship

I've got a list of site improvements that I'd like to make to www.signalhealth.com. We'll characterize these as V.1.1. Some of them require discussion and educating me. Some should be pretty straightforward. The site uses Drupal (V.4.5), MySQL, Apache. I'm located in New York and New Hampshire. Successful work and a successful relationship doing V.1.1 will lead to more substantial work on what I'll characterize as V.2.0 and to an ongoing contractual relationship for small tweaks and for maintenance. Being able to do the technical work is obviously essential. Working collaboratively is important. I would also prefer someone or a small group creative enough to learn where I'm going with the site and to suggest enhancements that I may not have thought of.

Here's the general picture. The immediate needs are outlined below for V.1.1. But I'm also designing a much more elaborate framework for V.2.0. This may involve paid subscriptions, a fairly complex group membership authentication scheme that would allow different users access to different content. This would require considerably more effort than my immediate priorities and so taking care of the immediate would also allow the developer/s and me to develop and test a working relationship.

Here are the immediate high priorities for V.1.1:

  1. I want to start podcasting. And I don't just mean embedding sound files in blog posts. I want users to be able to subscribe and have it download automatically. If I understand correctly, that means an upgrade to v.4.6. My current sense is that these should go into a new section entitled "Voices" (with the link just below "Contributors Commentary" and perhaps into commentary as well. I may need some MySQL help here too as I've been unable to upload any .mp3 files directly to the site.
