Drupal for Real Estate site?

Hi there,

I've got a hosting account with MediaTemple. They offer Drupal 4.7.6 as one of their 1-click installations. I'd like to have a versatile website with which I can customize home page, templates and perhaps even have a listing system based on templates (details, photos, downloads such as floor plans).

How easy or complex is it to do this with Drupal? I *WAS* going to do a quick site with Dreamweaver and build templates from there, but then it takes lots of planning to work in other features. I've read a few postings which chastise Drupal for being bloated.

Login problem - appear to be auto logged out

I started having an issue today on what has been a very stable install of drupal 4.7 where by when I login using the administrator account I am automatically logged out. Upon logging in I am not given any kind of error message until I try to access something that normally the admin only has access to. The reason I believe I am being automatically logged out is that the url changes to http://www.example.com/user/1?time=1212373051

Custom Node Creation

Is there a way to change the layout of a "Create Content" page?

I created two node types(parent and child), and I'd like to have my own UI to create them on one page. I'd also want to hide all of the Drupal settings(comments, menu settings, etc) at the bottom of the node create page.

Will I need to write my own PHP and SQL(which is fine), but wanted to see if there was an easier way to do it or an example to follow.

Thanks

Help write a simple search query?

I'm trying to write what should be a fairly simple SQL statement I can use to manually search content. What I've got so far searches within the body of all node revisions. I want to revise this to only search within the latest revision, but can't figure it out.

So far I have:

SELECT * FROM node_revisions WHERE body LIKE '%{searchterm}%'

But that will not filter out all the inactive revisions of a node.

Can anyone give me a hand to make my query limit the results to just the latest version of a node? (ie the greatest vid)

Advice on Integrating Documentation/WebHelp Output in a Drupal Site?

Hello,
Does anyone use Robohelp or Flare or another HAT to produce Web Help content that they then want to integrate cleanly with their Drupal site?

Any experience with loading WebHelp files into a Drupal site, or making sure that a search on the Web site will also search the help engine?

"Inventing" a way of rewarding contributors

Hi everybody,

Forums are great to get advice, solutions, and help in general.

As a web designer using Drupal, I face those issues:

1. I find a solution to my problem thanks to an existing post or an answer from a member to my post.
I feel so glad when people are willing to help. That is the magic of the forums and the web.
Now, I cannot afford to pay support to a consultant for those kind of things, but I would be willing to reward the author of the post.

I believe there could be a system that would be included in every forum node, a bit like "Rate this post" in which one could send 1 dollar (or 1 unit of currency) to the answer. Even if it not much by itself, several users rewarding the answer would amount to something. So the best answers would be rewarded and the contributor rewarded.

2. I need something that doesn´t exist like an extension to a module or a whole module
Many people have those needs. The module maintainers rarely have time for that, and when they can do it, there is no due date, so people needing the code don´t know if they should wait.

It could be great to be able to have a list of micro project people would put money on so that the development would be accelerated.
Some people do that offering $X to any member who could do Y, but a community system might be much more powerful.
