Drupal 4.7.x

My web site is developed with drupal 4.7.
I need user registration form and i downloaded and installed web form module for version 4.7.
In php.ini, i have set up my smtp server address, port number and username..etc.
After that, i tested the web form and it shows the message that the submission has successful.
But no email had been received.
How can i fix the problem?
Please help me as i need that web form urgently.

Since this problem started right after an upgrade, I thought this was the right forum to ask.

I inherited admin of a drupal site, running 4.7.4. A few days ago I tried to upgrade directly to 5.5, had a crash during upgrade, after several restore efforts have the site back as it was.

Except for a few odd things - when I create or edit a page, as user1, the links for "publishing options" "authoring information" are broken. the text is there, but the hyperlink isn't working.

I am running two sites in separate servers:
- the testing site
- the production site
as recommended in the good practices section.

While I am adding new content to the testing site, the internet users keep adding content to the production site at the same exact time. The problem arises when it is time to merge the two databases. There are rows in the two node tables which are showing the same identifier (nid column)! That makes impossible to merge the rows in a straighforward way.

Has anyone developed the appropiate SQL scripts to achieve that?

the formatting on the main page has suddenly changed...

i recently posted 2 new items and the width of these has for some random reason is now wider than the 500 pixel width that all the previous posts have been...

and it is now pushing the right side menus over and down...

i haven't changed anything on the site, on the theme or any code or any settings... so why are new posts now doing this?

I have a block which I want to display in the right side bar on any pages which have a certain taxonomy term attached to them. At present I am adding a manual list in the 'Show only on listed pages' box eg:-

education
node/10
node/41

This displays the block in the right side bar of a view called 'education' and also when the nodes listed are displayed.
