Converting to Drupal

I am looking for some document that tells me what needs to be set up before
attempting a D6 to D8 migration. I friend send me this:
1. Set up a plain vanilla Drupal 8 site.
2. Re-create your content types
3. Re-create views
4. Re-create blocks

I did my first migration and did not go well
only my users were migrate.

I understand Drupal 8 will be released later this year. As someone who has invested time in a theme based on D7, will there be any tool to translate D7 themes to the Twig language used by D8? If not (and I presume there won't be any conversion from D7 to D8) how long will D7 be supported?

Could anyone tell if it's possible to integtarte Drupal with Salesforce.com?
The reason is that I want to advise our CEO to integrate ERP/Accounting systems, Custom Home grown databases, other web-based apps, e-Commerce, Point of Sale, Sites. We are clients of Customertimes (http://customertimes.com/). All our apps and applications are in PHP.
Can someone give me a profound advise if such an integration is OK?

I am starting work on a new client site and I'm wondering whether Drupal would be suitable for the CMS.

So I am helping a group of guys who started making a website. They already have the html and css built, but they need the functionality built. I was wondering if there is a way to use their html and css without going through the theme process.
