Need help migrating your site to Drupal?

Administration/Modules: like the dead parrot... is a dead link, it was never active, it has gone to meet its maker...

After evaluating any and every open source CMS that I could get my hands on I arrived at the conclusion that Drupal looked to be one of friendliest and most popular CMS platforms in the world... The only other CMS platform not to have been sent to the digital abyss is Zope which must be admired for its prestigious object oriented approach. However learning how to actually use it is fairly complex and hard work; if I live long enough I may be able to use it to setup some of the things I am trying to do.

Need to get my exisiting site to converted to Drupal

Hi all
I have a site www.b2blounge.com which is designed in .asp and has a data base in access. The site has isapi tool, which makes the html links for search engines.
I intend getting this site converted to drupal, Though I am open to suggestions, I do not intend making many changes in layout, except few such as ad placements, having a announcement box some where on the main page.

1000+ Listings >> How to make each one a node...

I have a database here for real estate listings. I'm trying to create a node for each listing, and for groups of listings organized by city, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, price, etc. The problem I see is that there are thousands of listings in the database - so I need some sort of automated system to create all of these nodes...

Can anyone recommend a good solution for this? I need basic site structure advise here.

Thanks!

Everything2 style freelinking

Still evaluating Drupal, and I want to make sure I can do what I want.

I want to do something like the Everything Engine (like http://www.everything2.com) as part of my site. I downloaded the freelinking module, and it seems to be on the right track. Maybe there's another module that I need.

There are two features I'm looking for:
1) I want a node to list somewhere all the other nodes that link to that node. Or at least a handful of nodes linking to it.

help mapping existing site to drupal features

I'm a drupal newbie planning to convert an existing *very* simple database driven web site http://e3rg.pserc.cornell.edu/ to drupal. My goals are to (1) learn drupal and (2) make the content management of the site accessible to a non-technical person.

I was wondering if someone with drupal experience could spare 5 or 10 minutes to have a look at the existing site and then give me some pointers on mapping things to the appropriate drupal features.

Manual import of forum nodes and comments

Really sorry for the dual posting, but I really need to get this done and no one has helped out in the 'how do i' forum.

Can anyone help at all? I really need to get this done ASAP!

I have a XOOPS site with a forum (newbb) that I am trying to convert over to a drupal forum. I have managed to merge the xoops tables and add the data to the node table as well as adding the nid and tid's in the forum table.

I've updated the sequences table and set the term_node values to: node id (as seen by going to /node/xxx) and the vocab number of the forum vocab.
