I have been playing around with Drupal for some weeks, bought 2 books and do understand how to install and use existing modules. My intention is to create my own application within Drupal to make use of it's functionality as a complete supporting framework.
I am in the process of converting my site to drupal. Currently there are some html files which are generated periodically by an external program. I would like to put a wrapper around those files so I can start getting same blocks, menu etc
Ok so here’s what I want to create as the basis for my site, what I would like is for someone to tell me the best way to get the results I have had in my old site http://mouse.nodstrum.com/index.php
Firstly: I have Drupal 5.x, with CCK, Members and Organic Groups installed.
Hi, SO over at http://afterthemouse.com/members i have a list of everyone who has joined the site (so far to test... honest i do have more friends than this!) but my issue is that this list is EVERYONE... what i wanted to do was have a checkbox to split out sub groups, say male vs female etc. so i created a form.... but how do i use the members module to pick up on one field to list only those who have ticked that box?
I have quite successfully migrated three sites now theme and all to Drupal. Everything is going wonderfully, but I am hung up on one thing. Several pages over the three sites use some database connectivity to retrieve and set some data based on what the user is doing. It all seems trivial and straight forward. I was using adodb and really liked it. But is there documentation somewhere and some examples of what is available to me via Drupal code for accessing the database?
Recently we began using Drupal as the CMS of choice and so far it has been a steep learning curve with a huge payoff. To be clear, we are not using the Blog and community features of Drupal but are instead using it as a platform for building content managed websites that our clients can (with a little training) manage completely in-house. In short, we turn off the commenting capabilities and allow only the admin to make changes.
I'm quoting on refreshing a website we built years ago and we plan on providing CMS as well as several sections that require logins.
