I'm a complete newbie at administering drupal and was wondering how to install openssl so that i can use the SMTP module.
I need it becasue gmail requires ssl.
Is there such thing as an email that doesn't require ssl??
It has been many years since I have posted on the Durpal forums, and as many years since I have used Drupal. For the past 8 years we have been developing our e-learning and corporate communication system on a PHP framework established in 2001 and recent developments have brought me back to Drupal.
After a few weeks of planning and discussion we have decided that our system needs to be re-written from the ground up, as the foundation on which it is built is not one I would want to build a system for the future on top of. Over the past weeks we have looked a the usual development frameworks like Zend, Ruby etc and none have provided me with the confidence I would like to have regarding a sustainable and structured framework to move forward with. Mainly because they still require coding methodologies and structures to be built, and these structures are left to one or many developers to propose and create.
I decided to look to Drupal and Joomla as possible options here, and after looking at both extensively, and advice from some reliable associates, I am about ready to commit to Drupal as a framework. I am sure I do not need to explain the benefits in terms of structure, modules etc.
Hello all,
I am brand-new to the Drupal world, but from what I have seen, I like it.
I am just learning Drupal for fun. I have decided to take a static site I work-on (http://lal.sewanee.edu) and make it dynamic using Drupal. I have created my own CMS, but have never used one before. As of right now, if content on the site needs to be changed, I just do it by hand. But I would like to be able to give someone who isn't HTML savvy the ability to update.
I was wondering if there is a way to convert my PostNuke modules to drupal.
I have Classifieds, Business Directories, and News Headline modules already existing on my postnuke sites, but I am trying to switch over to drupal and not having much success. The drupal classifieds module just doesn't have enough of the functionality I'm looking for in order to use it.
I've investigated phpnuke2drupal script and it doesn't convert modules.
Hi! This is my first time really customizing with Drupal; I have been using WP as a CMS up until now. I found the option within Drupal to create a static homepage, but at the same time I would like to be able to enter my own html/php for that page (not just the text, but I'd like to be able to completely design the homepage using html), and have a different layout/template for the pages. Is this possible and if so, how? Thanks in advance!!
Well, I am a newbie, and I definitely have a love-hate relationship with Drupal (more love). I am sure with more practice it will get better, I hope.
My question for today is: After moving my site to localhost and struggled with it quite a bit. I have done it with a 301 redirect. which is working great. But can anyone tell me if there's a easy of not having the drupal showing up on the url.
