404 errors after site migration to drupal

I have recently migrated one site to drupal 6.12 from static html. But lot of old site pages got indexed by search engines and and many links from referral sites.

I have gathered all the old files and appropriate new links on the site. But not sure how to re-direct from old page to new page.

I tried
301 /oldlink /newlink in .htaccess file, but seems like it is not working. I also left a message to my server admin, but i want to see if there is any drupal way of doing it. Thanks,

Planning a move to Drupal from e107.

I'm planning on moving from e107 to drupal in the near future, and I want to know if there is a nice way to keep a similar method of managing and listing files. Is there a nice smooth way to migrate from e107 to Drupal, keeping this functionality? I would also like to know of any quality Drupal -> SMF bridges, if possible.

I did the export of contents (Drupal 6.12) from the Wordpress (via the “Wordpress Import” module). It worked well in general , beside one thing - the front page (the first one) populates the source code of the output with the em tags. Oddly enough, it happens only with the front page. The em tags go into the:

Using Drupal to handle two domains on Pair Networks account

I have two sites I use for both sides of my family (Mom's side and dad's side). Each has their own domain but I host them on my Pair Networks account. I would like to use Drupal to handle both sites in one installation and use the group the logged user belongs to to handle what they see. I can have both domains point to the same section on my account but can Drupal be configured to offer one Home page for non logged users and then based on the group of the logged user give them their appropriat page?
