Converting to Drupal

I am looking for some help/guidance in migrating the sites that are running on Vignette portal and Vignette CMS. I would like to hear about the best practices, better ways of migrating the content and issues faced and lessons learnt - in the process of moving on to Drupal.

I'm converting a fairly large site (nearly 1000 nodes) over from Joomla 1.0 and have run into an issue I can't figure out. In Joomla, most of the nodes had the "hide intro" option selected, and when I used the Joomla module to convert the database, it didn't flip that same switch on the Drupal end. I could go edit each node individually and then uncheck "Show summary in full view" and save it, but that would take a looonnngg time.

I'm about to convert a current website to a Drupal site. It's fairly basic, except for this one functionality, which I'm not certain how to handle. As it is now, users go to an URL on the site (mysite.com/files), login, and see a simple file structure with files they need to look at. These files are pulled from another server, via XML, and put on the host site. The files are pulled every 15 minutes, and at any given time a user can login and look at a file. The file names change constantly, they are something like this: April19_2010_0900 (reflecting the date/time).

I put this here because because i am trying to replicate a website I had a while back however I unfortunately don't have the old website to use. One of the features on the front page was a grid view of feed items.

Hi, i have my website www.fiddeandersson.se that i'm interested to convert to Drupal. I have done the CMS and PHP/CSS code by myself so I have full control over the site. I have just installed Drupal on my server and want to test it, i have follow the theme guide for Drupal 6 so I can write the code by myself.

Any suggestions?

i have all ready used drupal for one project but now i would like to use it for an site i ran in plan html and css for an while now

if you look at that website it has an image gallery on the first page how would i go about adding somting like that with in drupal is there an module for doing this i may also be adding other image gallery to other node pages soon so how would i be able two do that.
