Deprecated - Social software and communities

Creating a DeviantArt-type site is something i have been trying to do for some times, im wondering, should i use drupal to do this, and if i do, what modules should i install.

My website used to run on drupal but now it runs on Joomla which is most unsatisfactory.

Started using Drupal to re-develop my site about two weeks ago, and I feel as if I'm starting to get a decent grasp on it (seems much more flexible that *nuke, mambo, etc).

Here's what I'm trying to do. In my user profiles, the user will list in a textbox their favorite musicians.

I want the output (on the user's profile page) to make each band listed a clickable link. When clicked, it would take the user to a page that lists other users who also listed that band.

I'm sure it can't be TOO hard.

for the past two days, i have been trying to access the website www.myspace.com

it has been working for ever ..but then suddenly the other day

it did not work

the page never loaded up and i got the message:

Been trawling through some of the modules and have come across some fantastic ones. I'm just wondering if anyone has any particular recommendations for someone looking to create a sort of MySpace (only functional and attractive) for a niche group. I think I've found most things I need with the exception of giving users a way to create their own profile pages. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
