is it possible to disable drupal setting sites/default/settings.php to readonly ?

Hi,

I host some drupal sites and one things that really bugs me is this automatic forcing readlonly onto sites/default/settings.php

looks like now it's the folder who gets readonly ?

anyhow, in my setting this adds no security... if one has found a way to have write access to those files, it can change it to rw !!

but one thing it does, it brakes backup strategies when using remote backups on systems where we don't have root access.

So if there was a way to disable this feature, it would be gr8 !

Thanks

when one apache server got restarted, the website session seems lost intermittently

Dear Drupal community

Our drupal website is hosting in AWS cloud platform clustered with three instances in additionally, we have two memcache servers and we are using memcache_storage module for caching.

We have observed that when one apache server got restarted, the website session seems lost intermittently. We are able to replicate this in our clustered environment. We try to figure out the bottom of the issue and to understand the root cause for the same. Can someone shed some light on tackling the issue. Below is our memcache storage configuration

Is it possible to display content that is under the disabled fields in drupal?

I'm creating some contents for a page I am working on (apknite) but a twig template renders it multiple time which is not the desired outcome , so I am wondering if I can put said content in the disabled fields section, stopping the template from rendering it, then somehow manually insert where I need it.

Any experience with Drupal on "cloud servers" from Hetzner ?

What is your experience with Drupal installation on so called "cloud servers" from Hetzner ?
They offer machines with 2 GB RAM which costs less than 3 EUR/Month

Well this is a root server, so you have to setup everything (some Linux knowledge would be good).
May be there are other disadvantages or side effects ?

What is the best hosting provider ?

Hi everybody!

I am using godaddy hosting for my drupal site. But when I check the speed insight from Google, the point is very slow. I am considering changing the new hosting service provider. Can anyone give me a suggestion? Thank you.

php7.3 in official Docker

I'm doing an investigation about the best way to run Drupal in Docker Swarm now, and have an interesting observation.

Drupal is ok with php 7.3, and it's a bit faster than 7.2 branches. But in official Drupal repo we still use 7.2

https://github.com/docker-library/drupal/blob/master/8.6/fpm-alpine/Dockerfile#L2

Are there some caveats in updating it?
