Hi -
I run a hosting company that particularly specializes in Drupal. I ask this partly for my own benefit, and partly for any other host that is doing Drupal support -
What are you looking for in a Drupal hosting company?
What are your main gripes about Drupal hosting?
Please don't get into a diatribe or praise of a particular host - I'm actually looking for a sense of what the community is looking for, scince I don't think we very often ask the question.
Hi,
Do I need a SSL certificate to run Drupal on my server? I am editing on the server, and tried to add the Views module, and I get this error message:
I am using the i-MSCP on the Debian 6 (64 bit), I installed the system, but I want use the Drupal 7 I can’t use the updtate. If I would like to check new things and the Drupal 7 found it, but I can’t update. The Drupal want use FTP and not update automatic download.
I would like to ask me what should set the server, that it is use automatic download and It don't ask FTP?
I currently use Freehostia.com to host my 2 websites. One I made around 2008/2009 before I knew about Drupal and the other one: www.jbmjk.com I made using Drupal.
Freehostia are good for hosting my non-Drupal site. They are a good all round host. When you ask for help by opening a help ticket from the control panel they usually respond pretty quickly with their “24x7 buddy support”.
However I feel that their servers are not really designed to host Drupal websites and everytime that I need to update my Drupal version there’s some kind of a problem.
I'd like to write my experiences with mochahost - shared hosting:
* overloaded mysql servers causing slow-loading pages and many mysql errors (too many connections, lost packet, .. etc.)
* working/running cron job has stopped itself ater some time, I set it again and still not working
* sometimes website(s) works well, sometimes not (overloaded server, hardware issue)
Also i write to support about mysql server problem, and nothing has changed, still getting the same errors over all time
I have been able to figure out most things just fine. While making a routine update to a page today I "cleared all caches" as I usually do after making changes. The process never seemed to resolve. Now when ever I load the site none of the style sheets are working, not even the Drupal UI will come up.
