Hi dear friends,
I am trying to translate to Spanish my drupal following all traditional and necessary steps:
1) Downloaded file "es-4.6.0.tar.gz
2)open it in my personal directory (home/xxx) with tar-zxvf ...
3)It makes a new "/home/.../es" directory where "es" directory have the "es.po" file
4)Then, go to Drupal section called "Localization"
5)Add a new language (Spanish) and save it
6)next search the "es.po" file (with browser)
Since for my language "only" less than 2/3 of the modules are translated, I decided to start translating at
least the items visible to the standard user. But it is awkward to translate lots of string from within drupal.
It would be very helpful if one could export all (original AND translated) strings to a plain text file. So far it
seems like I can only export all englisch or all translated strings seperatly. I think its much easier to
translate all the strings in a file and then reimport to drupal than using the interface.
When will the new language template for the 4.7 be released??
I already tried to export the pot file from a test site with the cvs version… but it just exports an empty file :o)
It would be nice to have the POT translation templates available before the release of v 4.7.0 so that the translators could start reviewing their work.
Thanks, Gonçalo Dumas
p.s. Now that I mension it… the locale module of the cvs isn’t working at all – well, but that’s another question.
Hello,
I translated simplenews and published an issue (well, that seems odd to report an issue to publish something...) and as it is said I've just have to wait for "Some helpful developer will then come by and put them in CVS for you.".
Thanks in advance "helpful developer" (that sounds like a superhero, isn't it ? ^_^).
