i need to display page content or entire site in french, german and english.Default language set by user in his profile.i achieve this by locale module module in drupal.but it translate only the drupal core content only.but i need to translate user content (i.e) entire site info also.is there any support module needed to enable such functionality in my site. any body suggest how i proceed.......
1) We are using Drupal 6.15. Can we use the i18n-6.x-1.7.tar file or do we have to use the i18n-6.x-1.5.tar file?
2) The built-in language switcher. After enabling it in the utility navigation section, it shows in the block the word Languages on top and the two flags and the languages we are using (English/Spanish) underneath. Does anyone know how to get rid of the word Languages on top? It looks funny in how our site is setup.
I am a new web admin at a local non-profit health care center who has used Drupal 6 for about 3 months now. I was asked to look at making our website bilingual (English/Spanish). I thought Drupal had this capability and it wouldn't be too-too involved, but I think I am wrong.
My questions for anyone who is experienced with Drupal and would be kind enough to answer are:
1) Can Drupal do automatic language translation?
2) That is, can Drupal automatically convert content from one language to another?
I exported language file from http://localize.drupal.org/, and find that some word will never be translated perfect, like the word "Scale" (modules\system\general.XX.po).
Scale
number.module (#71)
description (#74): The number of digits to the right of the decimal.
Scale
image.effects.inc (#22)
help (#23): Scaling will maintain the aspect-ratio of the original image. If only a single dimension is specified, the other dimension will be calculated.
After installing several languages, including Estonian after Drupal was installed with standard English language it started to behave strange. While Russian language and other languages appear correctly, English does not. Instead Estonian language appears - partly.
Could I have overwritten some English .po files with estonian ones? Is it possible to install correct .po files? English ones? Are these available somewhere?
