Translations

I have successfully gotten the content types to 'take' multiple languages, but can find no way to get menu items to do it. Help please"

Also, when using the language switcher block only the interface change. The page content will not go to the chosen language????

Всем привет! Я новенькая в Друпале (друпал 6.2). Сделала простенький сайт, установила Locale Updater модуль, добавила Русский язык - многие заголовки (типа Search this site) превратились в "Необходимо заполнить поле Заголовок".

Я думаю, что это связано с тем, что некоторые строчки (strings) не импортировались правильно, так как в логе появились сообщения типа "9 translation strings were skipped because they contain disallowed HTML". Фраза "Необходимо заполнить поле Заголовок" не является переводом, а выдается самим друпалом, потому что перевод отсутствует.

Test on Localhost

1. Install Drupal with English Built-in

2. /admin/modules => Enable 2 modules: Content Translation and Locale.

3. /admin/config/regional/language/add => Select French in Combo box Language name.

4. /admin/config/regional/translate/Import => Upload the file fr.po => Buit-in-interface: 1312/1314 (99.85%)

I've checked a lot of issues concerning the transformation of special characters into question marks but this one still seems odd to me:

We have a content managed (Drupal) portal in German language and the web site is intended to get translated to other international language, say Italy. In order to support this translation, we are clueless whether;
1) the existing Drupal instance (for German language) can also be used for further customization for Italy language; Or,
2) do we need a fresh installation of Drupal in the same server and customize for Italy language; Or,
3) do we need a new server altogether and build from scratch.

Appreciate input at the earliest.

I'm using Drupal 6.2 and multilanguage spanish and english (default), my settings are

* language negotiation: Path prefix with language fallback
* My front page is a panel
* my default home page is home
I can switch language page correctly on the whole site but I can't on the home page.

Any help?
