Drupal was awesome to make a social networking site with, and while there are a few things I still wish we could have added, I am glad all the problems got sorted out eventually. Any comments are welcome, and feel free to sign up. I made a few pages comparing it to MySpace and Facebook, at www.commdom.com/myspace and www.commdom.com/facebook, but they were just thrown up there and not edited yet, so they are not complete. Lemme know what you think!
I finally released this site to the public on 08/21/06 and wanted to share my Drupal product. I had wanted to do it in all CSS / DIV but I had to break and use a couple of tables.
I wanted to say that Drupal wasn't the obvious solution to my CMS problems but after getting my hands dirty for a few days it really started to shine. Thanks for the excellent work!
I have recently started spending some time at this site, and I have to say - this is one of the best uses of Drupal that I have ever seen. It's not mine, although I really wish it was.
From the site's About page:
Threadwatch.org is a community website focused on marketing and technology news, with a tabloid'esque skew. It is maintained by Aaron Wall, who currently has nothing better to do with his time.
A community-driven vault with a ranking engine for promoting collaboration. Users suggest, moderate and have the control, with direct influence over the evolution of the galaxy. In other words: by aliens, for aliens.
The interface is quite similar to Fark tag-based frontpage, except that the tag graphics don't suck :o)
