New site (MRAM-Info), 'imported' from static HTML

Hello guys.

I had a static-HTML site (yeah, quite lame) - an MRAM (Magnetic-RAM, a new technology) community site.

I decided to make a new site, and power it by drupal. So I made a theme (based on Blue Marine), imported all the content (by hand! it took quite a bit of time), configured it, teste, and finally - put it on-line.

A work of Art, powered by dedication

check this out.

Not exactly themed correctly, because I lost the custom one I made. spent 2 weeks making the design and lost it from a stupid, yet costly mistake. Backups were too old. But my site has close to 50,000 documents. I would use more, but developers create dynamic modules that hate large sites. For example, Gsitemap and urllist modules both use the print to screen function, how about a static file? That would be nice, yea?

I see so many idiots using patch files as an updated module it make my hair fall out from the stress and time dealing with them. Drupal is a nice CMS, lot better than Joomla anyday. Joomla just plain sucks and is not even close to being SEO Certified. Drupal is nice, but some times I wonder about what developers are thinking when they make somethng new. Most of the time it makes me want to punch my screen and say screw it. But, hey there are some decent developers out there, they just dont have the time to make everyone happy.

Since we are all on this forum and for the reason of learning, then how about making things simple. This adsense module about threw myself infront of a bus. One simple task and they take you through 30 features and 50 steps just to add some content. I'm thinking, what in the hell is this developer thinking?

It is nice, but a waste of time going through pointless steps.

Dog is my middle name and ing means correctional critisizing. If no one carries out the frustrations to the developer, then crappier modules are being released.

Gimme20.com - Seeking Private Beta Testers

Hey Drupal Folks -

A couple of friends up in Vancouver and I have been quite busy building a health & fitness community built on Drupal 4.7.

Here is a blurb:

Gimme20.com is a health and fitness community that provides tools and support for achieving a healthy body and mind.

We are about a month away from releasing the first phase, but in the mean time we would like to invite some drupalers in to tear it apart. (That is right -- a private alpha test of sorts)

Absinthe Madness dot com

http://absinthemadness.com is my community (hopefully!) based website that caters to the history, use, artwork and lifestyle of the Absinthe craze. No, I'm not mad. Users can contribute stories of absinthe use, review products, even post pictures of a night out or some of their absinthe gear.

Drupal has to be the best CMS out there, I currently have a Nucleus Site I definately want to convert over to Drupal. Let me know what you think!

Any other absinthians out there?

The Aikido Ohana website

A website for an Aikido dojo, was recently redesigned and relaunched with Drupal 4.7.3. Using Drupal allowed us to make the relaunch in a matter of days rather than weeks.
