I have avoided posting on this so far because the site is not complete, but I am in a good mood, and I want to share. This post has long background story, scroll down to the results (in bold) if you want.
My site is www.animecards.org, a resource for those who collect anime trading cards. It is not yet really a resource for those who are interested in anime trading cards, but there are lots of pretty pictures.
I have been running www.animecards.org for some years, actually. It started as simple HTML, and then moved to Dreamweaver templates. Dreamweaver MX eventually choked on ACO. In searching for a solution, I learned about CMSs. I learned about Drupal some time ago when it was still in 3.x. Something about it appealed to me. In picking a CMS to switch to, I seriously considered Drupal, but Drupal at that time could not do what I needed it to do, and as you all know, it's not backwards compatible. All of my personal sites, I put up, I tear down, I don't really care so much, but ACO is ... well, important. ;)
So, I went with PHP Nuke combined with Gallery. I am sure there are many bad things about PHP Nuke. It doesn't really matter, I am not here to grieve over how bad php nuke is or was.
The nuke site was the first time users could register on the site and contribute content. I tried many modules, and many formats, but with my limited skills, I couldn't make my site friendly. But it held out for a while. Scans increased. I think I had about 50 or 60 registered users.
