4.5 looks really good. It is taking some major re-orientation but from what I can tell so far it will be well worth it. I've installed a 'vanilla' site and keep looking for modules to show up.
The Menus administration is confusing me. In the past I used Taxonomy_menu to create menu's based on taxonomy. Taxonomy has become Categories (love the word taxonomy but for user's sake I'm very happy to see the language lighten up) yet I'm not quite understanding if I can pick and choose category terms to create menu items?
Did an obligatory search on menus 4.5, and browsed the handbook, but haven't found what I'm looking for to explain the way this tool works. Looks powerful and very useful just need a bit more guidance before going further with trial and error.
Maybe someone else will start a dedicated 4.5 permissions topic as I believe it needs one out from under general comments on the release candidate. I'll do it, if it isn't already there, once I understand Menus and see if HTMLarea is working for 4.5
I came to Drupal at about 4.2 which was, if I remember correctly, less than a year ago. The progress is impressive along with the care and attention that the developer community contributes - a big thank you! With permissions and images worked out (by the way I love the simple logo image upload tool that makes life easier for us site builder/admin types! There is a lot to appreciate about Drupal's new developments.
