Post installation

I've just begun trying to use the chat feature but have run into a problem. The chatbox opens just fine, and when I type stuff in, it shows up just fine, but, and this is when using IE, when the chatbox automatically refreshes, the screen in the chatbox goes blank. If I click on the "change" button to the lower right of the box, all the chat session comes back into view, until the next auto-refresh of the screen when it goes blank again. I don't have this problem in firefox, but I can't get firefox loaded on our lab computers at school where I use the chat.

i'm running drupal 4.5.0 on solaris/sparc connected to a local instance of mysql 3.23.51.

i've noticed that when viewing pages, i must refresh the browser to see content. for example, when i first navigate to a page, it's completely blank. if i hit browser refresh, the content correctly appears. this problem occurs on both pc/apple machines running a variety of browsers, including firefox, safari and explorer.

any initial thoughts?

While I have found stated PHP versions for previous versions what is the minimum for Drupal 4.5.0?

I am working with this version on two machines, one is happy to upload and attach files (newer PHP / Apache (same config) / older mysql)

The other will upload the file to the temporary area, and then despite mentioning it in the preview, will not remember it has been submitted, while failing to copy it over to the files directory.

I just finished installing Drupal 4.5 on a new site and I'm having some problems with the forums. When someone makes a post the post is promoted to the front page, updates the categories block, and all that. But when you go to the forum it shows 0 topics, 0 posts and -1 new.

Now, when I try to veiw the forum by clicking on it in the categories block it links me to

http://66.36.228.82/index.php?q=taxonomy/term/16 (which shows my posts)

For some reason, the tabs on the 'my account' page are disappearing for me. And apparently I'm the only user who's having this problem- someone else working on the site with me isn't having that trouble. Here's the theme code:

Is anyone aware of a method to offer a folder with a selection of avatars in it, so that when users open an account, they can only upload from this pre-selection?
