Drupal is up and running but how do I ...?

Manually removing modules

Installed 4.5 and got everything running smoothly. Because we are evaluating, I checked all of the core modules by default during installation.

Now I've run into the memory problem outlined in other posts--the admin->modules module won't load. My virtual host is pretty nice, but they don't allow me to edit php.ini.

The default value is 8M, but it clearly isn't enough in this case. It does not appear you can change that PHP value in .htaccess.

Displaying content by rating. Possible?

Hi,

I'm looking for a way to sort displayed content in order of moderation votes which never expire. It doesn't matter how this content is submitted (i.e. if it's a story, blog, book page, etc.) I just want the most popular content at the top.

What are my options for doing this and which is the best? Any comments will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Trouble With Taxonomy_Access

Hi all,

I am attempting to use the Taxonomy_Access module with a new 4.5 install.
I run the mysql file to update the database and copy the module to the module folder and enable.
I can go to the users section and click the Category Permission and bring up a list of roles to edit.
The links to edit those roles is bringing up a 404 error buy the way....but I got around that by manually pieceing the correct link together. From there I happily apply changes to a "User" role for each individual category.

Firefox 'home' page 'remember me' issue.

Downloaded the updated cvs version of user.module which fixes the previous cookie problem.

mysql command to populate 'status' column with "1"

As part of a project to move a non-drupal database of users, on the latest 4.5 database, I need to populate the column 'status' with '1' so that all the accounts need to be active. does anyone know the command line script to do this? there are over 1000, so it would take a long time to try doing it manually.

In addition, I need to add records to the user_roles table listing the uid and the rid columns but that may be too ambitious for this mysql newbie.

Best,

Nick

Employee Directory or some similar functions...

Hi all,

I am a big fan of Drupal so far. It seems to have a nice fit between ease of use, flexablity and features. I am also hoping that I can lean on the user community a bit. I am developing an intrantet for a company that is looking for basic employee directory functionality. Basically, a way to looks at groups of users and thier contact information.

Does anyone know of some example sites that contain this?
Can I use an existing module to provide this feature?
