Update.php problem

I am running 6.9, trying to upgrade to 6.12. For some reason, I am not able to change my site mode to "offline" under the Site Maintenance category. When I run update.php, the correct first screen comes up and I am able to successfully get to the page where you select your updates. The updates are automatically selected. I hit "continue", and it loops me back to the first screen.

HELP! Drupal 6 is running way too slow

In short, Drupal6 is running WAY too slow for us and I think this is due to the thousands of queries being run so we need to downgrade from drupal 6 to drupal 5.7

We have over 100 users and close to 800 nodes of content, so it's not feasible to simply copy and past everything across. Can anyone offer advice or their services to assist with this job. I realise it could be timely and costly, but the speed of out site is more important than money so all offers are invited.

Thanks in advance

Struggling with upgrade and custom module

Hello all, I've had some success with my drupal upgrade but I've run into a problem and I'm not sure how to proceed.

The short story is: I've inherited a Drupal site. The client wanted it upgraded. Using "Status REport" I was able to see what modules needed to be updated. I worked through all the modules with no problems. I then attempted the securitiy update. This is were I ran into my first problem. Through the help of some of the forum members here, I was able to work through the problems and get the site running again. We discovered that I had several custom modules that were causing trouble with the upgrade. When I removed the custom modules, things started working again. BUT and here is my new problem. The login page is now blank. No one else can login. Just today as I was reading up on the working of Drupal I realized that I need to check the log and BINGO! I saw something that might help. Below is what it says.

phptemplate.engine was instructed to override the user-register theme function, but no valid template file was found.

This sounds like it's my problem BUT seeing how I'm pretty much a noob I'm not sure where phptemplate.engine is being instructed to override the theme. Could this be in my "template.php" file?

..........

I just looked at my template.php file and I found this function.

function theme_user_register($form) {

Call to undefined function date_content_is_empty() (CCK Module)

Running 6.12,

ERROR: Fatal error: Call to undefined function date_content_is_empty() in /var/www/cms/sites/all/modules/cck/content.module on line 900

Users are receiving this error when they are submitting data via a form. This started after the upgrade. the line 900 is part of handling empty fields. I tested myself, Also getting this error.

PS: All required fields are being filled out.

Thanks!
Chris

Drupal search not listing certain content types

I'm wondering if anyone out there can help. I am in the process of testing a migration from 4.7 to 5.x, all has gone well and we have ironed out all of the bugs bar one.
