We currently have a Drupal 5 site, but are building a new design in Drupal 6 so we don't plan on upgrading the current 5 site to 6. We would like to, if possible, transfer the many content types we created out of the old 5 and into the new 6 installation. Is there a way to do that? Thanks in advance!
"9. Verify the new configuration file to make sure it has correct information."
Given that all I've done, to this point, is unpack the update to the "install" directory and copy "sites" and "files" there, the location and filename of the "new configuration file" is not obvious to me. Sorry if this seems obvious to others, but I work with Drupal only occasionally, and do not remember its structure and internal function from one time to the next.
CCK fields (link and text area) added to the Book Page content type are not being rendered in IE8 or Opera10.51, but they are being rendered in Firefox 3.6.3 with no problem. As in, when I view the page source in IE8 and Opera, the code for the CCK fields is missing, but in Firefox 3.6.3 the code is there and displays as styled (individual class styling added for each additional field).
I'm 99% confident that this is related to having upgraded from Drupal 6.15 to 6.16. I upgraded a couple days ago because of the red security warnings at the top of admin pages. I'm just starting to build my site (amateur here), and I'm working on a live site hosted by mediatemple. I say 99% confident because I honestly don't remember for a fact if the CCK fields were displaying before the update, because I only work on the site once or twice a week and it's hard to remember everything. But I added and styled these CCK fields prior to the upgrade, and I really think I would have noticed this problem before now. I've been testing with IE8 every step of the way, and I'm 99% confident that I had checked cross-browser styling when I added these additional fields.
I had a site at 6.13 and I incrementally updated to 6.16 going though 6.14 and 6.15. On every update [root]/admin/reports/status showed the version I updated to, however
[root]/admin/reports/updates kept showing that I had 6.13 core installed.
I'd appreciate any ideas on how to fix this, as you can probably tell, I'm not very successful at getting the site updated.
I just spent all day upgrading several sites in a multi-site installation to Drupal 6.16. Now, new articles are not being promoted. Also, if I edit an existing article, it disappears from the front page, too. They do not show up for admins, either. All help/suggestions appreciated.

Additional info:
Upgraded from 6.15 to 6.16. I have 2 main sites and several test sites, etc. The problem is occurring on one of the main sites and one test site, but not on the other main site. Haven't yet tested the other test sites.
