Migration troubles

We are having a lot of problems trying to migrate our 5 database to 6. Modules are not being recognized as enabled when they are in the admin area, other modules are showing up as automatically enabled and then I cannot disable them (once I hit save, the checkmark is back!), when I try to add a view it says "page not found", etc.

6.16 to 6.17

When I upgrade 6.16 to 6.17, I'm still told that I'm running 6.16 and should upgrade to 6.17. So I erased my Database and did a fresh install of 6.17 and still got the same result. Clearly I have some learning issues. This was my first upgrade. Please feel free to mock me. jeff bellamy

Query related to jcarousel

Hi,

I have installed jcarousel jcarousel-6.x-1.1 ,viewscarousel-6.x-2.x-dev modules for carousel effect . I created a view for the carousel with image nodes. currently I have a display of carousel in a block which displays 3 images at a time.My query is I want to display only 1 image at a time and after scroll it should display the next one.(i.e one image display at a time). Anybody has any suggestion to tweak a module so that I get a required display?

Thanks.

Upgrade Issue

I'm new to drupal and trying to run the 6.16 to 6.17 upgrade. I keep getting an error.

Here's where I'm at
1. Uploaded the 6.17 tar file to my server and unzipped it to mydomain.com/6.17update
2. Changed the permissions on the settings.php to '777'
3. I changed the variable $update_free_access in the settings.php file to TRUE
4. Tried to run mydomain.com/6.17update/update.php and got an error

The installation failed when because of a permissions error on the settings.php. What am I doing wrong?

Module updates are not showing up after they are applied

Hello all,

Drupal newb here so please bear with me. I am attempting to update some security issues on a few of our modules. I read through the readme but there seems to be something that I am missing here. It shows that the patches need to be applied even after I have placed the new folder in the modules directory and then run the updates. After I have completed that process it still shows as requiring the update. I am running an Acquia install of Drupal 6.16 on Windows Server 2008.

Thank you

D6.16 update to D6.17 gives "Fatal error: Call to undefined function user_access()"

So a simple site (less than 300 nodes), running modules Views, CCK, Wysiwyg, Vertical Tabs, jQuery update, Image, Token, Pathauto and Poormanscron besides the Core modules was to be updated. The site has been updated since 6.5 (I think) and never had an issue, it has been running smoothly and no hickups at all the last few versions… Another site with about 500 nodes and many more modules on the same web server made the update without any problems.
