Upgrading Drupal

Can any 1 tell me how to upgrade drupal from 6.4 to 7.7

I help folks across several VPS on Hostgator and , yuck, Dreamhost.

I have had to change several servers from mod_fcgi to DSO to finish the upgrades.

Up until today I have loved my mod_fcgi / APC setup.

Why would it be failing me now?

We are using Drupal 5.x with PHP 5.3.0 (Upgraded last year). Now we found there are alot of Vulnerabilities found in current version. So i just wanted to know. if we need to upgrade the php again? or is there anyway we can secure our server?

I am using Drupal 7 and trying to add the jquery ui effect highlight. I successfully added the accordion widget to my page but cannot find any proper documentation for adding effects. I put the PHP directly into my body HTML. Could someone please give me some help? I am really new at Jquery and Drupal.

I've been tasked with updating a 6.x site that hasn't been touched in at least two years. I'm wondering if it's better to upgrade Drupal core first, or update the modules first?

I was even thinking about updating everything in the order that the updates were released. It scares me to update some of the more complex modules that are four versions out-of-date--I feel like jumping three or four versions at once will make the module stop working entirely.
