commerce kickstart causes troubles

I installed drupal 7.9 and commerce kickstart about a month ago.

In the meantime as well as core, commerce offers a new version.
Autoupdate cannot update commerce (core is allways manual, I know).

After kickstart has the modules in the package folder, update does not find them.

But if you move the modules to site/all/modules, commerce does not work anymore, becaues kickstart somehow is modified for this special installation path.

How do I get out of this trapp?

Replacing current site with old site

Permissions issue during 7.10 to 7.12 update

Today I did a 7.10 to 7.12 core update...

While uploading the new core files from my local drive, My FTP program reported some files which it could not overwrite on my remote server, due to permissions issues.

The files were:
sites/default/settings.php
sites/default/files/.htaccess
and something in the root which I forget the filename.

Question: Is this a regular occurrence during a core update. Are these files important in the core update?

Drupal seems to run fine and I did my update.php with no errors.

After 7.10 -> 7.12 update no admin access, login seems to fail

Hello! Friday I updated to Drupal 7.12 from 7.10. All seemed fine.

Today, I went to login to the site and continue my work.
I can get to the login dialogue via /?q=user and /user
I enter the login info and it seems like it's working except that I am not brought to the admin pages or any page for that matter except the "site in maintenance mode" page.

7.10 to 7.12 upgrade issue

Dear all,

I installed Drupal 7.10 successfully and had a nice working site.
Yesterday, I upgraded to the 7.12 core (instructions in UPGRADE.TXT).
Everything went well until I wanted to install a module:

6.24 to 7.12 upgrade seems to have had an issue.

Hello,

I have been running Drupal since 2003. Most recently, I was on 6.20. I updated that to 6.24, tested it and everything worked. Then I updated that to 7.12. I was given no errors and the site looks fine, until I try to create content then I get the following error.
