My host (pair.com) just upgraded mysql from the 4.0.x tree to version 4.1.14.
I am running drupal cvs from 9/19/05
I checked the mysql manual under server changes: http://mysql.mirrors.pair.com/doc/mysql/en/upgrading-from-4-0.html
...but don't know enough about drupal yet to see if our install would be affected. we are running a very limited site (forums and polls only for now) so if there are errors i might not know they are there yet.
I have 6 different drupal sites running from one database, sharing multiple main tables, and it's all running very nicely. But the cron task I have set to run the cron.php only runs cron tasks on the first installation at the main www.themrmystery.com . All my other sites are on subdomains.
I am trying to re-install all of my Drupal 4.6 modules but the download section never seems to be updated with maintenance releases.
Are we advised to use the cvs version? Is the cvs version on the download page tied to the cvs version of Drupal? Traditionally, the CVS version is considered high risk.
Are we supposed to go through all of the patches for each module and try to apply them? Patches are a maintenance maze.
OK, I know I was warned. And I know it's not supported to downgrade to a lesser version. And I know CVS is not meant for production.
But "I have a friend" who has worked on a CVS installation, and "he" was so happy with it that "he" wants to turn it into a production installation (downgrade to 4.6.3). Has any one had any success in doing this ?
