Upgrade problem of 4.5.4 to 4.6

Hi, I have a 4.5.4 drupal running on a Centos4.2. I have tried to upgrade it to 4.6, 4.6.2 and 4.6.3, without complete sucess. This message display and I cannot understand what went wrong, tried to find this issue on the search.

error: Unknown column 'severity' in 'field list'
query: INSERT INTO watchdog (uid, type, message, severity, link, location, hostname, timestamp) VALUES (1, 'user', 'Session closed for admin.', 0, '', '/drupal-
4.6.2/?q=logout', '127.0.0.1', 1131917508) in /var/www/html/drupal-4.6.2/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 66.

update.php for cvs-head doesn't work

I'd like to test the cvs-head. I've checked out from cvs and followed the upgrading handbook. But update.php has no output and the database is not updated. I've tried it with drupal installation in a subdirectory and in the root, too. It's allways the same. Any ideas?

Exactly

The forum topic says it all...

It's getting to the stage where I am not going to look forward to the upgrade because I have not documented half (in fact ANY) of the changes I have made. (Yeah, I know, I'm an idiot - but I spose I could still create a file comparison list etc etc and do it from here... ok, I'll fix that as soon as I finish this message)

My question is, if it get's to the stage where I have so much customised, that I can't afford the hassles of upgrading, will security patches still be made available for 4.6? and for what period of time?

Messed up my drupal install, can I save it?

I was being attacked via the XML-RPC library while I was running drupal 4.4.1 .
Unfortunately I was rather careless and copied the drupal 4.6.3 files over the old drupal.
Now it seems that database.mysql, database.pgsql and updates.inc were all overwritten.
I have a backup of database.mysql from Aug 2005 but I don't think I backed up any other files.
Am I hosed? Are there any backup files that drupal makes?

Now I know I should have backed up the entire directory tree.

Any way to salvage this? :-(

my site got hacked, advice please

I'm really disappointed. One of my sites got hacked. The hackers in question were using my drupal installation to send a trojan (located in my /files directory) to people. Luckily I've got a hosting company that is good enough to let me back into the account for long enough to do a full site backup before they wipe it clean.
Then I realized that I didn't upgrade this particular site to 4.6.3. So here are my questions:

Which update script for 4.6.3?

The changelog for 4.5.5 is 2005-08-15, but the most recent update in the listbox in update.php is 2005-05-07.

It's become painfully obvious that I'm missing some tables and columns, but I can't tell which update script to apply to go from 4.5.5 to 4.6.3.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
fnord
