I recently upgraded to 4.6.2 and just realised that the Search box had disappeared when I was not logged into the site. Odd, I thought. I went back to the Access control, and sure enough "Search content" was not enabled for Anonymous users (Search administration is not enabled for anybody, I reserve that for "Superuser"). So I enabled it. Still can't see it when not logged in. Back to access control. It's not enabled! In fact, try as I might, it just won't get enabled...
Ok, after a massive failure of one of my servers which I could not diagnose I took the extreemly drastic step of reinstalling drupal from the very beginning. Thankfully, everything I needed was backed up and ready to go so this was a very easy task.
I do remember seeing an article on this issue pop up on the Drupal site some time ago which i've not been able, but after re-importing the database I have had various symbols such as ? and ? have appeared in my node entries.
Surprised to see, some time after upgrading to Drupal 4.6.0, then to 4.6.2, that no posts later than the upgrade are appearing in the "Recent posts" list.
After looking at the Tracker module and playing around in my test database, the problem appears to be not in the Tracker module but in the way comments are handled. In fact, none of the node posts since the upgrade have been written into the node_comment_statistics table - and since this is a critical part of the SQL statement for finding Recent Posts, of course they don't work.
ok, I have restored a Postgres Dump from a 4.5.2 site, which I have upgraded to 4.5.5, but now no one can log in. It just refreshes the page. any clues?
