This probably seems like a dumb question, but I just signed up with Bluehost who has the latest release of Drupal available. However, I've discovered that most of the contributed modules don't work yet with version 6. Would it make sense to downgrade to version 5.7 for the time being? If yes, they how do I do that, given the fact that I'm using a provider that only has the v. 6.1 available?

I just discovered that our website prisonactivist.org runs on drupal version 4.3
Would it make more sense to uninstall and do a clean installation of drupal 6.1, or would it be better to go through all of the upgrades? If so, do I have to upgrade to 4.7 and then 5.0, or can i go straight to 5.0 and then to 6.0?
Also, how can i know if the modules I have in 4.3 will still work in 6.1 and any of the versions inbetween?
I installed 5.1 originally, slight modifications but ran into server settings problems. Finally got those resolved. Installed Gallery, and wanted to update to 5.7 before installing the Gallery embed module.
Instead of moving my old drupal folder, I put 5.7 into a new folder. Managed to get as far as updating the database, and because I was in a new folder had to change true to false in update.php.
But now I can't log in, because my new drupal 5.7 is still in maintenance.
How can I get in?
Can I still go to my old folder for 5.1? I haven't tried that yet.
I recently upgraded all of the modules on my site as well as taking the initiative to upgrade the core to drupal 5.7 from a previous version 5.0. After doing the update.php and discovering that all of the files were successful, I could not successfully log back into the site to put it back online. Nor could I click any part of the site, instead it would give me a basic layout- real basic and tell me the page could not be found.... Doe anybody have any suggestions on what I did wrong and how I can fix this?
