Drupal 8.x-Alpha2 Enable/Disable Theme

Hello,

I am running Drupal 8.x-Alpha2 on my server and I am currently checking theme development with Twig etc. As soon as I crash the code in my custom template, I might not be able to enter the admin panel to change themes. When I delete my theme, currently Drupal 8.x-Alpha2 does not switch to an alternative core theme (I know, it's Alpha).

Is there any way using Drush8 (which I got up and running) to switch to core theme Bartik or even reset settings in case some core feature will crash my admin panel? Otherwise I have to reinstall, reinstall, reinstall...

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/my-accoun/public_html/core/lib/Drupal.php on line 222

Got Dru8 alpha2 installed OK, but can not administer it. When clicking on admin menu to change theme (look), I get following error (in error-log):

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /home/my-account/public_html/core/lib/Drupal.php on line 222

Any of you have any idea? (posted it as issue as well).

Why does Drupal use other extensions than .php

Hello everybody,

I was wondering, why Drupal uses instead of just .php other file extensions as

  • .info
  • .module
  • .install
  • .theme
  • ...

What is the reason? Is it because it's more "readable" (which I believe is not the case)? Or does it boost performance (which is not logical)?

Thanks for your answers ;)

Looking for feedback on eCommerce, community and content management modules

Hi,

I'm researching options for a client project and would like feedback on modules people have found effective for the following use case.

The site is conceptually similar to Cafe Press or Zazzle. There is a master library of items for sale. When a new client is signed up, they will choose a subset of the master library to offer for sale to their own customers on their own site. The client site should be lightly customizable (logo, color scheme) and the site can either be a subdomain (client.oursite.com) or a subdirectory (oursite.com/client).

Template Creation is drupal easy?

I want to know because i want to create a template for a website where look and usability is more important than security and reliability.I tested Drupal Wordpress and then massage boards like phpbb and mybb

It has to be highly customized, pure HTML is fun but not easy to use for the admin so got no choice for using a CMS

have not really created a template for CMS though as it is a lengthy process.

massage boards seems easier

but creating pages is easy for others

confused which to use any suggestion ???
