Drupal 8.x

So a real rookie here.. I downloaded and installed DrupalVM for the first time ever.

I managed to set everything up, I have the drupalvm dashboard and site up. So naturally I'm trying to login as "admin" (both username and password).
But it doesn't let me log in, it says "Unrecognized username or password. Forgot your password?"

I was able to install drupal 8 successfully but now I'm stuck at the next hurdle. I want to build a little advanced route builder. Basically, you select two addresses on a map, and the Drupal CMS calculates the trip, based on the selected mean of transport (Car, foot, public transport). There should also be a generated report of the route, which is available as an email or PDF. It would be nice to include additional information into the report, for example gas station, restaurants or shops on the way.

to test drupal 8, I installed it on a subdirectory of my site web (site_root_dir/drupal) and this one is accessible using www.mywebsite.net/drupal (it works)
Then I wished to move the installation from site_root_dir/drupal to site_root_dir/drupal8. I am able to reach the home page, but all the links (admin, config etc) are referencing the old "/drupal" directory which is too bad.
