Multiple Drupal instances?

I'm currently planning a large website network that needs to go up fast, and I've heard great things about Drupal as a CMS. Originally planning to build a proprietary system from scratch, I just don't have the time, funds, or experience to do so at this time. I need to know if it's possible (and how) to run multiple drupal instances that share a database. Specifically, each site will be a separate subdomain of the larger "hub" site (i.e. site1.hubsite.com), have its own content and theme, but users are shared among them.

Tracking every click by a registered user?

Hi - a client wants a web site that they can generate a report, by registered user, a list of all website nodes and external URLs clicked on / or accessed by that user. Even better if the report included a datetime stamp of every user's click within the website. Of course if the data could be generated into MySQL somehow, we could create the report on our own.

Is this doable with Drupal with some existing modules? Track only seems to track what a registered user created, not what they viewed.

Thanks,

Chris

I am creating a website for the first time. But I want to creat a thank you url that will appear immidiately after registion intor the site, but I do not want this thank you url to be included in my page, so that others can not have access to the page except after completing there registration. 10,000+ daily authenticated users? Will Drupal barf?

A client currently has a website with a large subscription base of over 10,000 users. The primary purpose of this website is to deliver content to subscribers after they are logged in. Because of the nature of the site, it is very possible that a large % of the 10,000+ users will be accessing the site around the same times. Probably not 10k concurrent users, but it is possible that 10k people will be accessing the site within say a 4 hour time period, with a majority within a 1 hour time period.

The site needs to be redone, and I am considering Drupal. I have a decent amount of experience with Drupal, but I am concerned about redoing the site only to have it implode under that type of load. Having the site inaccessible for even a few minutes of the peak hour would be bad.

I am aware of several of the caching options, but I am concerned that they will not greatly benefit me because basically all of our users will be authenticated/logged in. However, most of the content I will be delivering will not be unique per user.

Drupal vs Joomla

Hi all,

I've been away for a bit and am now setting myself up to work on a CMS to establish my site with (after much in the way of delays), I'm sure that both Drupal and Joomla have their plus and minus points, but would really appreciate an unbiased view on which would be the best for the below.

It's for a specialised international job site, and what I want to be able to do is have separate content for the two different types of users.

For job-seekers, I want the option to have a profile which will allow them to set-up a mini-profile, areas of specialisation, regions of work, preference for length of work and the like

For job-posters, I want two options - one to allow them to register and post jobs, and a subscribed option which will allow them to search the members profiles (although any contact with the job-seeker should be done through a web-form and not by direct sharing of contact details), and also receive a newsletter for which they can specify the frequency of - but that will update them with new members, status changes and new jobs between each newsletter.

The posting of jobs should be done through a web-form which has certain required fields, and others that are additional.
