Since I am obviously in a Drupal forum, everyone may be more inclined to select Drupal over Django. That's fine. I am debating between the two technologies. I understand broad differences: Django is a framework where you have to deal with many of the small details. Drupal is sort of like a framework but not to the extent that Django is. It is very much a CMS while Django is not by default. I've also read that performance between the two are similar.
My question is: Why would you be more inclined to use Drupal over Django?

Please help - Drupal 7 mine
Hello,
So basically i want to make tournament website.
Few things im not sure what would be better joomle or drupal:
1. I want that people can make their own group and people can join it (+reg)
2. Group leader can join specific event.
3. When group leader is joining the specific event, they have to pay in paypal for example.
I was wondering if I can use Durpal [Commons] to build a theme like the one shown below. Basically with memebrs and there contact information appearing horizontally as you scroll down.
Preliminary
A few years ago a friend and myself created a tourist/news website using Drupal 6. Neither of us are involved in web development professionally, it's all hobby.
Goal
At the moment we're revisiting the idea to create a movie database website, like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Our site will be a lot plainer, only having pages for Actors, Movies, Directors, Producers, and Distributors. We are looking for tips / suggestions on how best to do this in Drupal 8.
